SHOW CONCEPT by Thomas Mann
I don't know about you, but on my side of this economic meltdown the world is lookin' a little raw and very fragile. I have always thought that our belief in the value of our money was akin to the "matrix". It worked as long as we all believed it worked. Punch a conceptual hole in that belief and inside the illusion you'd find a coupla guys pullin' switches and punchin' buttons...experimenting by adding perturbations (waves) to the existing monetary system just to see what happened.

So, to the point of the show...we invited a select group of metal & jewelry artists to MAKE a piece that speaks of the utterly incomprehensible economic fiasco we are suckin' down right now. The WW2 term for this state of reality was, SNAFUed (Situation Normal All Fucked Up), So IS this the "MATRIX"...or WHAT? What the hell am I lookin' at dude? Is this money real?

Here's our reality...this show opens for Art for Art's Sake (New Orleans' citywide arts gala), Saturday, October 3, 2009.

Participating Artists include:
Vitrice McMurry, Boris Bally, Bryan Petersen, Kristin Diener, Marlene True, Marcia McDonald, John Greco, Charles Lewton-Brain, Dee Fontans, Aaron Kramer, Barbara Minor, Chris Hentz, Matt Hollern, Margo Manning, Dawn Nakanishi, Cathy Cooper, Jeanne Flint, Kem Alexander, Jaclyn Davidson, Kathy Buszkiewicz, Connie Verrusio, Robert Ebendorf, James Thurman, Deanna Ooley and Thomas Mann.
